  • This is our resident school of Horse-eye Jacks. Happily I was able to get quite close today.

  • The Jacks are never quite sure how to act around divers, some days they leave quite quickly when approached. Today was not one of those days.
  • This small Almaco Jack, at left, just doesn't quite fit in with the school. This one has had the good or bad luck to have been hooked and then break free. If it is truly lucky, the hook will rust out. If not, it might make a meal for one of the many sharks in the area.

  • This shark was playing chicken with me! Having cruised half the length of the wreck straight towards me, it was only at the last second that she broke off, and I took this photo. The shark is probably only 3 ft from the front of my camera.

  • The shark cage is getting quite colourful now that it's been down for 2 months. It was put down for the shooting of a shark-suit promotion at the end of December, and nobody seems to have gotten around to picking it up yet.
